Korzilius Declines Title Defense due to “International Obligations”

Title Defender Stan Korzilius has released a press statement declining to defend his EiPSI Open crown, quoting “international obligations”.

Korzilius, who last year got the better of tennis prof Berry Schoenmakers in the final in a deciding set, has announced:

Even though I would gladly defend my title, I sadly have to decline. At the moment, I am pursuing my international tennis carreer in the UK, and I still have hopes of participating in the US Open next week. However, I will certainly participate next year: I will just go for the even years!

The tournament organisation wishes Korzilius all the luck in his international tennis carreer — and should he fail to qualify for the US Open, he is always welcome next year!
