The EiPSI Open is the annual tennis tournament of EiPSI: the Eindhoven Institute for the Protection of Systems and Information. This year’s second edition of the tournament will be held from September 20-26, 2014 at the TU/e tennis courts. The tournament is open to anybody from EiPSI and friends. Registration is possible until Friday, September 19, 23:59 and is completely free. No experience (or own tennis racket) is required 🙂

General Information

Players compete in the EiPSI Open in two different groups. In Group A, tennis professionals compete for the prestigious EiPSI Open Cup. Group B is for semi-profs who want to compete for the (somewhat prestigious) Fair Play Award. Both awards are kindly offered by the tournament’s sponsors, E.S.T.T.V. Taveres and Snookercollege Inchperfect.

Both groups are mixed single elimination singles tournaments. Men and women of all levels compete in one category, playing best-of-3-sets matches with tiebereak. The winner of each match advances to the next round. The draw is made randomly by the organisation, except that players may receive a seeding based on previous accomplishments.

The draw will be announced on Saturday, September 20 shortly after registration closes. Player are free to schedule their matches at any time after that during the opening hours of the TU/e tennis courts (9:00-23:00 during weekdays) according to the following tentative schedule:

  • September 20-23: Last 16
  • September 23-24: Quarter-Finals
  • September 25: Semi-Finals
  • September 26: Final

After scheduling a match, players should contact the organising committee (see below) so that the schedule can be updated.
